Kyocera Document Solutions Inc. (President: Hironori Ando; herein “Kyocera”) announced today that an independent research programme on green skills* by Economist Impact, supported by Kyocera, has been honoured as a Silver Award Winner in the 2024 Annual Anthem Awards in the Sustainability, Environment & Climate category.
Launched in 2021 by The Webby Awards, The Anthem Awards honours the purpose and mission-driven work of people, companies, and organisations worldwide. The 4th Annual Anthem Awards was the most competitive season yet, with more than 2,300 entries submitted from 34 countries worldwide.
The awarded research programme, “A Green Edge: Green Skills for the Future”, uses insights from 300 executives from Berlin, London, New York, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo to provide the latest data on corporate attitudes towards green skills globally. It explores what drives the adoption of green skills and analyses businesses’ readiness and efforts to do so. Kyocera has spent more than 30 years innovating products that help businesses reduce their carbon footprint while enhancing productivity. As climate action increasingly depends on the capabilities and skills of the workforce, the Economist Impact programme was strongly aligned with Kyocera’s objective of supporting evidence-backed insights on what green skills companies need and what actions they must take to contribute to achieving a sustainable society.
“The Winners of this year’s Anthem Awards are truly inspiring, and I am honoured to help elevate their impact,” said Anthem Awards General Manager Patricia McLoughlin. “At this moment, there is a lot of uncertainty in our world, but the tireless and extraordinary efforts of the Anthem Awards community provide hope that a better tomorrow is possible. Thank you to everyone doing this work and making an impact.”
Kyocera recently announced that it has become the first company** in its industry to establish technology for upcycling PET film, used in the manufacturing process of electronic components by its group company, into components for multifunction products (MFPs) and printers. Furthermore, the company aims to reduce environmental impact in the fashion industry through its new “FOREARTH” textile inkjet printer, which dramatically reduces water usage in textile printing. The company is committed to continue leveraging its technology to achieve a sustainable society.
*Green skills: The knowledge, abilities, values and attitudes to support sustainable and resource-efficient business operations as companies focus on reducing their carbon footprint.
